Nick Crawford is the founder and principal of Crawford Capitol Strategies. He brings more than a decade of experience in state and federal policy, government affairs, public affairs, and communications — experience he leans on to help clients navigate complex issues with confidence.
Nick most recently served as Legislative Director for the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services, the state's largest agency, where he led the department's legislative strategy from policy proposal to enactment. As the department's spokesman before the Iowa Legislature, he built firsthand knowledge of the key players who move policy forward.
Before HHS, Nick held a similar role at the Iowa Department of Corrections, where he also served as the department's Communications Director. His career includes federal policy work in Washington, D.C. for U.S. Congressman David Young, public affairs strategy as a Senior Account Executive at LS2group, and his start in Iowa government in the office of Iowa Governor Terry E. Branstad.
Nick knows the process, and he knows the people who drive it — experience he now puts to work delivering results for his clients.
Nick holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Iowa and lives in West Des Moines with his wife.
